We don’t do Studio Projects because they are easy, we do them because they are hard. The animation and visual effects industries are a team sport, and it’s vital that we prepare our students for the realities of working in – and for – a team. And this means figuring how to work successfully with other people in the workplace.
Group projects are something we do a lot of at Escape Studios. Animation is a team sport – almost all of our graduates will end up working in teams along side other artists on group projects in commercial studios.
And, inevitably, we don’t always (or even often) get to choose the people we work with. Sometimes we have to hold our noses and work with people we dislike. However, this is all part of the process of preparing our students for industry.
