PROJECT-CENTRIC
Team Projects are an essential cornerstone of the pedagogical approach at Escape Studios.
Team Projects not only emulate the dynamic of real team work in the industry but also give students the opportunity to hone their skills with the incentive of a collective endeavour.
Team projects are challenging by their technical nature, often involving different skills and a variety of tasks across 3D and 2D disciplines but also with regard to the management of a team and deadlines.
YEAR 2
Year 2 is by definition a pivotal moment in the journey of our undergraduate students. It’s the very year where VFX students get to determine their SPECIALISM, Compositing or 3D. And it’s also the year where most of the learning and ‘cognitive heavy lifting’ is happening. And finally it’s the first time students get to work together in order to create a collective work.

BRIEF
Second year students encounter their first project assignment during the second term of the academic year. Teams are being formed by tutors based on skills and strength in order to ensure cohesion and consistency across the board.
The brief is identical to all groups and consists in filming one or multiple chromakey plates – or green screen shots – along with the creation of Computer Generated Assets to complement the environment.
Each team must eventually deliver one single VFX shot made of live action and CGI.

CONCEPTS
From this consistent technical framework, each team is given the freedom to develop their own creative ideas while tutor ensure that the concepts remain feasible within the deadline – the end of the term -.
This 2025 cohort has been particularly successful and pro-active with their concepts and pre-production planning. Filming took place last week and the VFX processes will now follow under the supervision of both Team Producers and tutors, monitoring the development on a weekly basis until the end of May.
We will share the 7 final projects in due course.
Looking forward to see those exciting ideas materialise.
