VFX WORFLOW

WHO NEEDS A WORKFLOW ?

A workflow is essentially a road map towards a destination, a list of tasks to be followed in a specific order so to achieve a set goal. The higher the number of steps and skills involved to complete a project, the higher the complexity of articulations and transitions, the more you need a plan.

THE STRUCTURE

The Visual Effect Industry, like many other fields – such as automotive for instance – implies an intricate layers of expertise and processes which must be organised with precision in accordance to a deadline.

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE

Anticipation is key and provision for unforeseen circumstances is a necessity to ensure fluid and smooth hand-over across different departments and disciplines. The task of managing the project is often the joint remit of the vfx supervisor and the vfx producer. The vfx Supervisor typically oversees the technical aspect of the project, whereas the vfx producer manages time and money while liaising with the client.
