VFX Festival “Edu” Starts Today

The 2023 VFX Festival begins today, focusing on education, and on how school leavers and recent graduates can break into the animation, games and VFX industries.

Like last year, the 2023 VFX Festival is a hybrid event, both online and also in person. The event runs for three days from 21-23 February.

The VFX Festival is taking place at Escape Studios at our midTown Campus at 190 High Holborn WC1.

VFX Festival – Emerging Talent
Today the VFX Festival focuses on “Emerging Talent” – aimed at students currently studying within Higher or Further Education.  What careers are open to school leavers and graduates? Today our guests will learn about the many possible career paths in the modern animation, games and VFX industries.
Today’s first event was introduced by Amy Backwell – emerging talent specialism from ILM, global leaders in VFX.   Amy talked about the many points of entry at ILM for young talent, and introduced a number of junior artists who talked about their journey from school to ILM – and how they got their start in the industry.
