VFX Festival Continues Today with DNEG, Axis and ILM

The VFX Festival continues today, with today’s theme being “Emerging Talent”. Today’s talks, classes and panel discussions focus on how emerging talent can break into the VFX, animation and games industries.

 

Like last year, the 2023 VFX Festival is a hybrid event, both online and also in person.   The VFX Festival runs for two more days from at our midTown Campus at 190 High Holborn WC1.

The VFX Festival 2023
The VFX Festival 2023 showcases animation, games, motion graphics and visual effects, with speakers from DNEG, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), IMG VFX, Rare and Blue Zoo.

Today’s event was introduced by the Principal of Escape Studios: Ian Palmer.

VFX Festival – Emerging Talent

Today the VFX Festival focuses on “Emerging Talent” – aimed at students currently studying within Higher or Further Education.  What careers are open to school leavers and graduates? Today our guests will learn about the many possible career paths in the modern animation, games and VFX industries.

ILM
Today’s first event was “Uncovering the VFX Magic of The School for Good and Evil” with Anelia Asparuhova, VFX Supervisor at DNEG.
Anelia talked about the work of a VFX Supervisor at DNEG, and introduced some of the challenges she faced in bringing The School for Good and Evil to life.
